High-resolution, wide-field retinal photography creates a permanent, high-resolution photographic record of your entire retina, not just the central parts that you use for vision. It can capture many of the effects of diabetes, hypertension, macular degeneration, and other retinal disorders and can serve as an important baseline for future examinations.

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) creates and MRI-like, microscopic image of all 10 layers of the retina, revealing many retinal conditions before they become visible on a traditional retinal evaluation. OCT may be used to monitor diabetes, hypertension, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and other retinal conditions.
